X-Intercepts or Zeroes
The point where the graph crosses the X Axis
To understand how to find the X Intercept or Zeros, you have to understand that the coordinate for the X Intercept will always be 0 (x,0).
Now we know this, we know that to find the X Intercept, the Y value in the equation of the parabola must be 0
y = a (x+h)²+k

Question
If the equation of the parabola is y = (x+3)²-4, what are the 2 X Intercepts?
Solution
y = (x+3)²-4
0=(x+3)²-4
sqrt(4)= sqrt(x+3)²
2 = x+3 -2=x+3
OR
-1=x -5=x
