Quadratics
Zeroes or X-Intercepts
The point where the graph crosses the X Axis
Since the equations are already factored, it is easy to find the X- Intercept. As a result of the x intercept coordinate always having a 0 as the y value, all we have to do is solve the equation:
0=(x-r) and 0=(x-s)
For Example:
y=(x-4) (x+5)
0=x- 4 0=x+5
4=x -5=x
Question
What are the X intercepts in this factored form equation y=(x+8)(x+2)
Solution
For More Information:
0:00-1:40
0:56-2:56
y=x+8
0=x+8
-8=x
y=x+2
0=x+2
-2=x
